Senior Payroll Administrator - Accountancy practice - Cambridge

Full time Position - Up to £36,000 (Depending on Experience)

AJ Chambers Recruitment is very happy to be working with a Chartered Accountants based in Cambridge, on their requirement for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator.

Purpose of the role:

  • To work as a key member of the payroll team managing multifrequency UK payrolls for a varied client base.
  • To ensure all client data is processed securely and in confidence.
  • To ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting of client payroll data.
  • Oversee the allocation of monthly payrolls and provide support to the Payroll Junior

What will you be responsible for?

  • Perform all monthly payroll entries into the payroll systems and produce related reports, ensuring accuracy of salary, overtime, and bonuses where applicable.
  • Accurate and timely submission of monthly/fortnightly/weekly RTI returns to HMRC dependent on client requirement.
  • Production and upload of pension reports to relevant pension provider, always ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with assigned clients.
  • Maintain records to ensure accurate and timely billing for payroll services.
  • Process payroll year end and ensure accurate and timely year end submissions.
  • Provide support with the preparation of annual P11D’s.
  • Provide support to the payroll junior in regard to client queries and allocations of work.
  • Be a key contact to provide advice and guidance on payroll and pension related issues to clients and colleagues.
  • Adhoc tasks to support the wider team where needed.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Experience of processing multiple UK payrolls in a practice or bureau setting (Desirable)
  • Experience of using multiple payroll software packages, experience of Brightpay and XERO would be advantageous.
  • Experience of pension CSV preparation and submission
