We seek a Senior Noise Nuisance Officer for a Public sector client in London.

The Senior Noise Nuisance Officer will lead on Statutory Noise Nuisance and Building works using the EPA Act 1990 and COPA while working with enforcement officers to gather evidence and breaches and to undertake Environmental Health / Noise/Public Nuisance regulation and enforcement activities to discharge statutory functions to protect and enhance the safety, health, and environment of members of the public.

The Senior Noise Nuisance Officer will provide effective technical and professional guidance that enables the service to maintain high standards and contribute to the achievement of the client's corporate vision, behaviours and priorities and the development of a positive high-performing culture.

The Senior Noise Nuisance Officer will ensure compliance with all Environmental Health and noise-related legislation through the application of technical and legal knowledge, investigation techniques and enforcement skills while giving expert professional advice and support to businesses promoting compliance through education, enforcement, and investigation of complaints.

We seek The Senior Noise Nuisance Officer with:

  • Accredited degree in Environmental Health or equivalent (Level 6) qualification or Evidence of Continuous Professional Development including Membership / Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
  • Educated to degree level, specialist field qualification desirable e.g. diploma in Acoustics, HHSRS training, NEBOSH.
  • Experience in Enforcement services within the public or private sectors Experience in formal enforcement action including report preparation, evidence gathering, collation and assembly of disclosure files. In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health / Noise Nuisance enforcement responsibilities and legislation.
  • Experience of involvement in project-led enforcement activity. Experience of achievement through partnership working.

The role will be office and field working mainly Mon-Fri office time hours however the candidate will need to be flexible to work evenings and weekends when required for evidence gathering in noise cases.
