Senior Management Accountant

We are in search of an experienced Interim Senior Management Accountant to provide essential support to our charity client based in Tonbridge. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and analytical individual with a strong background in management accounting and a passion for the non-profit sector.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and year-end accounts.
• Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and the development of financial models to support strategic initiatives.
• Monitor and report on financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Ensure robust financial controls are in place and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability.
• Liaise with external auditors, providing all required information for annual audits.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and process improvements.
• Collaborate with department heads to ensure budget adherence and provide financial training and support as needed.
• Oversee and mentor junior finance staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous development.

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in management accounting, preferably within the charity or non-profit sector.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
