The role:

The role will be based in central London 'up to' 3 days per week in the office and we are looking for a Senior IT Category Manager to join a team of 5.

This is an extremely strategic role and could lead to significant career progression for the right person.

We feel the level of seniority comes in at around Snr/Lead level with a view to wanting to progress to AD level within 2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior IT Category Manager role is a strategic opportunity who will be responsible for IT procurement category planning and strategy across the clients £70m budget spend.

From day one you will be facing off to the CTO and the wider SLT to help optimise their spend. You will need to bring your A-Game from an influencing and business partnering perspective as you'll need to help set & deliver a long-term vision for this IT Category and help shape the wider environment across other divisions.

  • Ownership of the full procurement lifecycle, including supplier relationship management.
  • Help to drive cost reduction efforts through process improvements, contractual efficiencies and elimination of inefficient spending.
  • Work with the CTO to build strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders to include Technology.
  • Organise & create the strategy for IT category management and supplier development.

To qualify for an initial 1st stage interview, the successful candidate will possess some of these skills:

  • Strong leadership ability and adept in dealing with a mixture of team members at different skill levels.
  • The ability to make well thought out decisions in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Broad understanding of Cloud Tech (AWS, GCP, Azure etc), IT Hardware, Software & Professional Services.
  • Understanding & delivering a range of procurement practices to include category management, end-to-end contract management, benchmarking etc.
  • Experience with capex and opex models
  • Excellent Influencing & negotiating expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work well in a team or under your own supervision.
  • Good knowledge of SLAs, KPIs, particularly regarding enforcing those SLAs and KPIs
  • Experience of working with Cloud based technology teams
