Your new role

As a Senior Operations Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and conducting in-depth assessments and investigations of alleged improper conduct, including highly complex and sensitive cases. Reporting to an Operations Manager, your duties will include:

  • Leading the assessment and investigation of highly complex and sensitive allegations of improper conduct, utilising your statutory powers where necessary to advance investigations effectively.
  • Analysing substantial volumes of complex information to distil key points and matters essential to decision-making.
  • Exercising sound judgement and initiative to ensure timely and thorough progression of assessments and investigations.
  • Crafting precise and comprehensive notices, case notes, and memoranda to support the investigative process.
  • Ensuring the meticulous and effective management of substantial evidence volumes related to assessments and investigations.
  • Maintaining and fostering effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the organisation.
  • Staying informed of and implementing modern investigation techniques, including leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership to Operations Officers, promoting a culture of learning and excellence within the team.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this demanding and rewarding position, you will require:

  • Demonstrated experience in collecting and analysing large volumes of complex and sensitive information, with the ability to distil this information to its essential elements.
  • Significant experience in conducting investigations, audits, reviews, or evaluations, whether in a governmental or private setting.
  • A track record of preparing clear, accurate, and concise reports and other forms of correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring and guiding staff, fostering a supportive and constructive team environment.
  • Proven capacity to manage high workloads and navigate competing priorities efficiently.
  • Experience working within environments that demand strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound, objective judgement in complex and sensitive situations.


Desirable:

  • Qualifications in accounting, law, investigations, or a related discipline
  • Experience in planning, undertaking, and managing criminal or administrative investigations, audits, or reviews.
