Our client, a leading international intellectual property specialist are looking to expand their HR department with the addition of a Senior HR Advisor in the Leeds office. This is a very varied role with high levels of responsibility, you will be working as part of a team alongside two other HR advisors and reporting into the HR Director. This position is operating at a similar level to a HRBP in other organisations and the ideal person willhave extensive stakeholder management experience, have a good knowledge and understanding of DEI and be able to work closely with Department Heads to offer support and guidance on a wide range of HR matters.

Main duties of the Senior HR Advisor:

  • Consulting with managers, department heads and partners and providing ful support on a range of people management cases

  • Coaching and guiding managers and department heads on the best way to handle people management queries

  • Extensive stakeholder management

  • Liaising with the recruitment specialists, helping managers present a business case for additionalheadcount and assisting with final decision discussions

  • Advising managers on employment law, any updates to policies and communicating these changes to the wider business

  • Working closely with the DEI focus groups, getting their input and listening to recommended changes

  • Managing various projects such as career development frameworks, behavioural frameworks and salary benchmarking

  • Working collaboratively with other departments such as internal communications

  • Contributing to the monthly board reports

The ideal Senior HR Advisor will have:

  • At least 3 years experience in aa HR generalist position with a big focus on advising senior managers

  • Confident at managing senior stakeholders

  • Able to work well on own initiative

  • Have good generalist HR knowledge and the confidence to provide advice to managers on a wide range of HR queries

  • Passionate about continuous learning and proficient at staying ahead of the ever changing landscape in DEI and HR

  • Previous experience of working in a fee earning environment

  • Team player with a positive, people focused attitude

  • Organised and proactive

  • CIPD is preferred but not essential
