My client, a leading European manufacturing company, are looking to hire a Senior Group Accountant to join their Cheshire head office (hybrid working, 2-3 days a week in the office).

SENIOR GROUP ACCOUNTANT

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Group Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the successful completion of group accounting and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing consolidated IFRS group accounts, forecasts, budgets, and UK statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies. Additionally, they will support the tax affairs of the business. This role provides a unique chance to work with a diverse team and contribute significantly to the financial health of the company.

What you'll do:
As a Senior Group Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion of group accounting and reporting. Your responsibilities will include preparing consolidated IFRS group accounts, forecasts, budgets, as well as UK statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies. You will also be tasked with coordinating corporation tax accounting while liaising with third-party tax advisors. Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with the group's statutory and regulatory reporting obligations. Your role will also involve providing training and guidance to the Management Accounts team on technical finance matters.

* Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated accounts and UK group consolidation
* Manage and oversee the inter-company reconciliation process
* Consolidate periodic forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term plans
* Coordinate monthly and quarterly management reporting packs for the UK and European boards
* Prepare and deliver annual statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies
* Coordinate corporation tax accounting, liaising with third-party tax advisors
* Ensure compliance with the group's statutory and regulatory reporting obligations
* Provide training and guidance to the Management Accounts team on technical finance matters
* Support in managing the relationship with Group Finance


What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior Group Accountant role is an ACA qualified accountant with strong experience in group consolidation, technical financial accounting, reporting, and financial analysis. You have proven experience in preparing detailed management and statutory accounts. Your ability to work under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments while maintaining excellent attention to detail sets you apart. You possess strong interpersonal skills and can work well in a team as well as independently. Your communication skills are top-notch, and you can explain financial results clearly to senior finance and non-finance management.

* ACA/ACCA Qualified accountant with strong experience of group consolidation, technical financial accounting, reporting and financial analysis
* Proven experience of preparing detailed management and statutory accounts
* Experience working under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments while maintaining excellent attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team as well as independently
* Excellent communication skills across various platforms including written, verbal, presentation, and reporting at all levels
* Ability to explain financial results clearly to senior finance and non-finance management
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power Point
* Financial systems knowledge and experience, preferably SAP and Cognos Controller
