They boast productive finance teams across multiple UK locations. As part of the finance leadership team your primary objective will be work on your own initiative and take the reins of the core finance inclusive of management accounts, month end reporting, financial close, and production of financial statements, freeing up and supporting the FD with their commercial and strategic work.

You'll need the drive and ambition to grow with the role and company, adding the financial accounting team to your responsibility and stepping up to the title of Financial Controller. Your primary focus will include but will not be limited to:

  • Month end reporting: Manage financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results. Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and providing detailed analysis on key variances.
  • Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial forecasts and models to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against forecasts and identify areas of risk or opportunity.
  • Business Planning: Contribute to the development of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
  • Business partnering/stakeholder management: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to drive business performance. Build strong relationships and effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Helping manage the finance function: Support the overall management of the finance function, including financial operations, compliance, and risk management. Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Creation of management reports: Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and areas requiring attention. Provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Pricing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse pricing strategies and support pricing decisions. Evaluate pricing models, profitability analysis, and competitive landscape to maximize revenue and profitability.

Essential Skill and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant: Hold a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced and confident manager of small finance teams.
  • Self-starter | works on own initiative.
  • Management Accounting | Budgeting / Forecasting.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced senior finance manger to quickly progress into the role of Financial Controller. There's a good structure in place but you're also encouraged to "make it your own" through implementing new and enhancing existing processes and procedures.
