Senior Engineer (St Lighting)
Location for the role is: Winchester.
Rate - £50 - £53 Per Hour.
Contract - Start 02/04/.2024 until end September 2024 then on a 6 monthly rolling basis.
Hours of work : Workload dependant but target hours of 16 hours per week. On occasion with 2 weeks' notice workload increase temporarily up to 24 hours per week. Working days to include Mondays.

About the role:
You will have to plan and organise your own workload working on your own initiative with minimal supervision. You will support a Group Engineer and a Senior Lighting Engineer to undertake Lighting design as required, to provide support to site teams during the build phases. On completion will aid the accrual of the lighting and handover to the asset owner.

The candidate will be provided with a laptop with Office 365, Microsoft Teams and loaded with Lighting Reality, Amtech ProDesign 4 and AutoCAD for design reviewing. CAD in team is done by others, and we share PDF copies of drawings at review stages.

Additional Requirements for the role:

• Hybrid working (mixture of working at home and in the office), with frequent visits to live sites.
• Office - Three Minister House 1stworking Monday of every month
• Communicating with stakeholders in a challenging environment
• Significant requirement for lone working on live highway and construction sites
• Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role

Candidates should have the following :

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Recent & relevant experience in the design and construction of street lighting on highway and related projects.
• Professional status - Ideally applicants ought to have Associate membership of the ILP for checking and approval of lighting designs undertaken by other Street Lighting Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians.
• Ability to design highway projects to programme and cost with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use Lighting Reality .
• Ability to use Amtech ProDesign 4
• Good Communication Skills
• G39/1 Code of practice training has been undertaken and is up to date
• Relevant and in date CSCS Card
