Senior EC&I Engineer - gas

Main Responsibilities

• Together with the team of engineers and designers you are responsible for the Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projects for the Gas Transmission Major Project Programme
• These projects will range from Concept Design (BP135G) to Execution Design (T/PM/G/35)
• The projects will be for specific to the Gas Transmission sector predominantly for the UK compressor station infrastructure
• You are responsible to manage and complete the EC&I design within budget and planning. This includes change control and consistency of the EC&I design with the other disciplines
• You are responsible for the quality of the EC&I design
• You will participate in internal and external design reviews
• Depending on size and complexity you may be Lead Engineer EC&I for one project, or for a portfolio of projects within the Gas business
• Make independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within EC&I Engineering

Experience & Qualifications

If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you

• Previous experience as a Senior Engineer EC&I, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in the Gas Transmission sector
• Deep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Process)
• Deep knowledge of the Gas Transmission standard and specifications for the EC&I disciplines, specifically focused around the compressor stations
• Good understanding of both the Electrical and Instrumentation discipline, capable of leading designs for both disciplines
• MEng / BEng / HNC / HND in EC&I Engineering
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)
• BS7671 18th Edition required
• Application of functional safety 61508 and 61511 (Preferred)
• COMPEX Ex12a and 12b (Preferred)
• High Voltage Engineering and Design experience (Preferred)
• Experienced with the main EC&I design packages including AMTECH, AutoCAD, AutoCAD electrical, Revit, Dialux and all Microsoft office packages
• Sound understanding of the current British and European Standards
