An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Director - Statutory Controller to join a dynamic team within a multinational PLC. With a competitive salary range of £110,000 - £120,000 and based in Manchester City Centre, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

What you'll do:


As the Senior Director - Statutory Controller, you will be at the forefront of our client's financial operations. You will lead a team dedicated to preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards. Your role will involve coordinating the statutory audit process, attending Board of Director meetings, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations. You will also collaborate closely with other teams within the organisation, supporting business initiatives and aligning on financial reporting matters. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to excellence.

  • Lead a team to prepare and review statutory financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors to ensure timely completion and resolution of audit issues.
  • Attend country specific Board of Director meetings to report status of Statutory Reporting applicable to the respective entities.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial reporting matters and support business initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess the potential impact on financial reporting processes and controls.

What you bring:


The ideal candidate for this Senior Director - Statutory Controller position will bring extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting within a multinational company setting. You will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS or US GAAP, and be adept at applying them to complex transactions. Your proven experience managing statutory audits and engaging with external auditors will be crucial in this role. You will also possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to interpret financial data effectively. Your excellent organisational skills will allow you to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks as necessary.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including IFRS or US GAAP.
  • Proven experience managing statutory audits and engaging with external auditors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
