A leading organisation in the northeast is looking to recruit a Senior Desktop Technician to join their team.

The position would be based in North Shields, and you do need to have a car/driving licence.

Salary: £32,076 per annum

Day to day responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for 2-5 employees depending on the project/assignment
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to colleagues and staff for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, including operating system and application software
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the organisation's local area network (LAN) and Wi-Fi infrastructure
  • Monitor network performance, address connectivity issues, and ensure reliable internet access
  • Perform routine network maintenance, including user account management and security protocols
  • Provide guidance and support to IT services in order to move activities to the service desk, targeting high volume / non-complex tasks that will reduce costs and improve the user experience
  • Provide IT technical support to projects including site appraisals, onsite configurations and support
  • Issue devices and ensure they are enrolled correctly
  • Resolve issues with mobile devices and provide advice to users how to use their mobile devices effectively
