Role: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Fully remote

Harmonic is delighted to partner with a high-growth research and insights scale-up, undergoing a phase of rapid expansion. They have grown 20% YoY for the past 5 years, and following recent investment are continuing to scale.

Being a data-led organisation carrying out some extremely interesting work, the data team has a significant role to play in aiding the growth and success of the organisation and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies such as AI and ML.

The Data Platform Engineering team currently sits at a headcount of 4 but will double to 8 before the end of the year, offering amazing progression opportunities!

They work on a fully remote basis, although have an open office policy and are open to candidates coming into the office to collaborate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop clean and verifiable code utilising SQL and Python scripting languages, facilitating the functionality of customer data products and business applications
  • Construct and oversee data pipelines and notebooks, deploying code systematically, traceably, and securely
  • Efficiently devise, refine, and uphold automated systems and processes within specific project(s) or technical domain
  • Implement code deployment systematically, traceably, and securely
  • Conduct data analysis, profiling, and task planning in accordance with project priorities
  • Ensure compliance with data/software delivery standards and ensure effective delivery
  • Document data advancements and operational procedures comprehensively
  • Regularly introduce products and services derived from your efforts and play a pivotal role in their success

Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience handling large volumes of unstructured data
  • Solid Databricks/PySpark experience - able to provide examples of transforming unstructured data in Databricks
  • Solid SQL and Python experience
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to comfortably communicate with non-technical senior stakeholders
  • Expertise in crafting, managing, and upholding data warehouses and data lakes
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and their applications
  • Understanding of agile methodology practices
  • Familiarity with GitHub and its functions
  • ADF experience is a bonus but not essential

Salary: Up to £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits
