Senior Data Engineer - Insurance - Analytics - Azure Data Factory - DataBricks - Python - SQL
 
The Role
 
Meraki Talent is assisting a leading London based insurance firm to find a Senior Data Engineer to join their data management team.

It is essential for candidates to have both the tech stack and domain knowledge.
 
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop robust tools to automate the onboarding of data into systems
  • Design and implement automated ETL pipelines to streamline the movement and transformation of data within our systems
  • Develop Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to ensure data consistency and accuracy across the organization
  • Ensure data is made available and accessible for Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable solutions
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and best practices to enhance data processing and analysis capabilities
  • Mentor and upskill the data team, providing guidance, training, and coaching to foster their professional growth
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organisation
 
Skills
  • Extensive experience in data engineering, with a deep understanding of data architectures and data management principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Python, and SQL
  • Strong experience developing automated ETL pipelines and data integration techniques
  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) systems
  • Familiarity with data science workloads and techniques is a plus
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proven experience in mentoring and upskilling team members, with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies and industry trends
  • Problem-solving mindset and a passion for continuous improvement and optimization
