Senior Data Analyst with insurance experience is sought by thriving insurer in the City of London. You will act as a bridge between the Data team and the rest of the business, ensuring they maximise the value of the capabilities that the Data Team has developed.

This role will have a particular focus on supporting short-term projects that have a dependency on the Data Team and would suit someone who has experience working with small and large-scale data transformation projects.

We are looking for a highly tenacious and bright analyst with passion for data and working with cross-functional teams to be part of the Data Engagement team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to define, document and prioritise business requirements.
  • Deliver value from data to business stakeholders.
  • Share the capabilities and tools of the Data team with stakeholders to help them improve processes and make better decisions.
  • Document requirements, business outcomes, data flows and data using identified tools and techniques.
  • Ensure business value of the requirements are understood by the squad.
  • Be aware of technology stack, data architecture and data culture principles to ensure you can represent the data team with stakeholders and enable the team to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Embed Service Excellence principles in data contracts that are built.
  • Become the expert for specific datasets within our domain and having the ability to interrogate this data and specify views to support reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that the various functions in the Data team are engaged as necessary to deliver required business outcomes and strategic goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a Data Analyst role within Insurance
  • Change and Data Transformation experience
  • Numerate and detail focused.
  • Have a passion for using data and technology to drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with stakeholders from across business functions, understand business requirements and help them make use of existing data tools and capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively and keep them updated on scope, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Can balance multiple requirements from different teams and prioritise based on the value delivered and resources required to deliver them.
  • Experience in capturing/defining/specifying data mapping and transformation rules.
  • Ability to work in a scaled agile environment involving cross functional execution teams.
  • Ability to coordinate requirements and outcomes across multiple functions within the Data team (especially Data Culture, Data Architecture and Data Engineering).
  • Good knowledge of SQL is required, and knowledge of Data modelling concepts and data management techniques are advantageous.
