SENIOR CREDIT RISK ANALYST

UP TO £45,000

LONDON

This is an exciting new opportunity to work for a company building out their capability in credit risk and analytics. You will work directly with the CRO and aim to take the credit risk function to the next level.

This company is a social business with plans to revolutionise the financial services. Their aim is to scale their alternative to the high-cost lending market and help reduce financial exclusion. Over the last 18 years this company has helped 100,000 people save on interest costs, start up their own business and avoid eviction from homes.

THE ROLE

You will be doing the following daily:

  • Create, oversee, and uphold a comprehensive suite of risk reports essential for senior management oversight of credit risk and portfolio quality.
  • Aid in monitoring scorecard performance and policy rule adherence.
  • Analyse reporting data and deliver insights to senior management regarding performance.
  • Formulate recommendations, design, and test innovative strategies to enhance credit, fraud, and acquisition performance.
  • Develop and test new strategies for automating lending decisions or improving operational efficiency.
  • Offer support in the credit scorecard development process.
  • Contribute support for credit change initiatives, including the integration of additional data sources, the design of new affordability methodologies, or the implementation of feature engineering using Open Banking data.
  • Take the lead in implementing strategies within IT systems, collaborating closely with the IT team.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years of experience in credit risk as a credit or data analyst in the UK consumer sector.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end credit risk lifecycle.
  • Strong numeracy skills, specifically in statistics and machine learning.
  • Existing knowledge or can upskill quickly on SQL and Python.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of credit scoring model development would be advantageous.
  • A strong numerate degree.
