Job Title: Senior Credit Controller

Location: Sevenoaks

On-site initially which will then become hybrid.

A leading finance solutions business is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join our finance team in Sevenoaks. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company's credit control operations, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining strong relationships with our customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the credit control function, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the collection of outstanding debts from customers, dealers, and partners.
  • Assess and mitigate credit risk by evaluating creditworthiness and conducting regular reviews of customer accounts.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to set and achieve targets for cash flow, bad debt, and overdue balances.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of credit control activities and performance.
  • Develop and implement effective credit control strategies and processes.
  • Handle escalated customer and partner queries and disputes, providing resolution in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact credit control operations and adjust practices accordingly.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit control.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
