Summary

We are looking for a Senior Content Lead to lead a team of Content Producers creating multi-channel, audience-first content. You’ll be a senior lead in the national Content and Publishing team, with a focus on written content but sitting alongside a wider team responsible for producing audio and visual content and trade and guidebook publishing. It’s a strategic level role working closely with colleagues across the Communications and Marketing directorate and wider organisation to ensure content is relevant, authentic and impactful.

What it's like to work here We’re bigger than you think, we’re more complicated than we appear and we’re larger scale than you’d imagine. We’ve got passionate people in all our teams, and we’ve got so much more we want to achieve. We’re for everyone, for ever and we really mean that.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You'll manage and lead the Content workstream, providing guidance, support and clear objectives to help the team deliver. You’ll lead for writing and editorial standards across all content production in the team. You’ll help to communicate the cause and purpose of the National Trust, reaching our audience in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them.

The primary focus of the team is on producing digital content including email and web, but non-digital could be an area of delivery in the future. You’ll lead the team to take a ‘test and learn approach,’ trying new content tactics and using results to inform future content planning.

Who we're looking for

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible in this role.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • The passion and creativity to develop content that puts audience needs first and tells a story that’s both impactful and relevant.
  • Experience of leading and empowering a team to hone and develop their content creation skills and inspiring bravery to try new content approaches.
  • Proven experience of working in a strategic content-focused role delivering multi-channel content
  • Experience of writing, editing and proof-reading copy
  • The ability to build effective relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation at all levels.
The package

We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
