Our client is a technology consultancy established in 2012, renowned for driving significant organizational change with technology. Their Software Engineering Team is made up of c50 people across software engineering, security engineering, quality engineering and DevOps engineering.

The team works across public and private sector clients, in particular central government and financial services, to deliver solutions to complex client requirements. You will be in the Software Engineering Team working as part of a cross-disciplined group working across the full software development lifecycle.

Job Description
Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.

You should be able to easily commute to their London or Manchester offices. For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:
Deliver high-quality implementation and documentation for critical functionality
Deliver code, unit tests, feature tests, stubs and integration tests
Operate in an agile environment as part of a scrum team and participate in sprint rituals
Work with members of multiple skills to understand designs, functional requirements and triage issues
Create and document low-level designs
Assist in the promotion and delivery of digital transformation engagements

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
Excellent hands-on experience with Java and associated technologies
Experience working with Spring Boot
Hands-on knowledge of open-source tools, libraries and standards
Some working knowledge of containers (Docker)
Strong experience of working in Test Driven Development, test coverage, unit tests, feature tests and test automation
Experience in DevOps tooling and Continuous Delivery
Good knowledge of non-functional drivers for design, including an ability to performance tune, profile, and debug applications
Knowledge of both traditional and agile delivery methods
Drive and desire to further your skill-set and lead in the application domain
Good knowledge of Open source and open standards
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Knowledge and demonstrable experience of both traditional and agile delivery methods

Collaborate meaningfully with all parties to ensure outcomes are reached effectively
Whilst having experience in a consultancy is beneficial, demonstrable experience in working with clients/external partners in other settings will always be considered.
