This is a new role that will lead in the exciting and ambitious plans we have for the future of Commercial partnerships at the National Trust.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

Salary: £58,149 per annum.

Duration: This is a permanent role which offers realistic salary progression based on annual reviews.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

What it's like to work here

Based at our head office in Swindon you’ll will work closely with key leaders across our Commercial businesses. You will spend regular time meeting colleagues virtually or at our national office in Swindon, but you’ll also be expected to travel to National Trust places to engage with regional colleagues and to visit external partners.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Proposition, you will lead and deliver new areas of business-to-business Commercial funding, either in support of our biggest existing consumer businesses (Food & Beverage, Retail, and Holidays) or by developing new income streams that have the potential for further scale. You will be part of the wider Commercial Leadership Team and build an integrated understanding across functions including knowledge of existing capabilities and assets. Taking a strategic, evidence-led view, you will be able to identify opportunities for growth in our B2B areas and to inspire and mobilise teams to deliver, as a result of your plans. By working as partners with businesses of varying size and scale, you will increase the profit that will be reinvested back into our charitable cause.

Who we're looking for
  • Significant experience of funding, budgeting and financial analysis of Profit & Loss, gained from working within a commercial operating context.
  • Experience in developing new business relationships and delivering profitable outcomes directly.
  • Skilled in influencing and negotiating contracts.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including knowledge of Excel and Tableau, to connect multiple sources of data and develop insights that support strategic decision-making and business case development.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams and stakeholders towards clear delivery outcomes.
  • Effective people, collaboration and influencing skills, enabling strong relationships externally and internally to be built and maintained.
