Our client is a leading design and architectural firm based in London with a portfolio spanning diverse projects from iconic landmarks to innovative urban developments. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our client on a 6-month fixed term contract basis. As a Senior Commercial Manager and important member of the commercial team, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising commercial processes, ensuring profitability and driving sustainable growth.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support the leadership team and new business team in evaluating new opportunities.
  • Oversee all commercial aspects of projects, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Lead negotiations and contract management, working closely with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
  • Work with the wider studio in all aspects of project set up.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Develop and implement robust commercial strategies, policies and procedures to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and project management, to drive seamless project delivery and maximize profitability.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on commercial matters, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of contractual frameworks, regulations and industry best practices.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and inform strategic planning initiatives.
 
What you need to have
  • Proven track record in a similar commercial management role within the design, architecture or construction industry.
  • Extensive experience in bids, projects and contract negotiation in the UK and internationally.
  • Risk management and financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare and amend commercial and legal documentation such as design agreements, NDA’s, fee proposals and scope of services.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as Microsoft Office and project management systems.
