We have an exciting opportunity for a Care Navigator to join one our GP Practices in Liverpool. This is a permanent role, working 30 hours per week across the hours of 8am - 6.30pm, with one late evening on a Tuesday which will be working till 8pm. Paying £19500 per annum.

What will you be doing as a Care Navigator?

We are looking for an experienced candidate with GP practice experience.
Somone who is used to managing a busy and changing workload.
The roles requires a level of resilience and patience to deal with day to day queries

A typical day will consist of the following:

  • Experience of dealing with a variety of queries and complaints, both face to face, over the phone and digitally
  • Identifying emergencies, referring calls to nominated stakeholders.
  • Processing of repeat prescriptions and the signing out of controlled dugs
  • Opening and stamping of incoming mail
  • Coding hospital discharge clinic letters
  • Summarising patient files
  • Checking NHS mail, and OOH and electronic letters for any action needed
  • Opening and closing of office premises
  • Maintaining the fridge temperatures and reporting any faults
  • Dealing with private insurance claims and medical reports
  • Taking minutes as and when required for practice meetings.
  • Liaison with non-practice staff i.e.., ICB teams, care home staff, health visitors
  • Processing blood forms when instructed by GP or when checking if a patient is overdue for any specific blood tests
  • Meeting QOF,IFF,GP spec targets and arranging appropriate appointments


This is not an endless list of duties

We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • If you have similar or previous experience in a Care Navigating role
  • You may have done another GP Receptionist Role
  • You will be familiar with the terms used in an NHS setting or practice
  • Experience in dealing with queries and sensitive information
  • Familiar with other NHS jargon such as QOF, IFF, GP specs
