This position requires a Senior Buyer with a strong background in retail procurement and supply chain to join a leading team and contribute to their success in the industry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of the retail market, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.

Description

  • Create new products and commercial ranges that are right for our varied customer base.
  • Manage new product development stage process in full, from conception to bottom line.
  • Consistently keep up to date with new trends and crazes.
  • Liaising with suppliers including dealing direct with factories in the Far East, ensuring strong supplier relationships are maintained.
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Introducing new suppliers that can add real value to our business.
  • Liaising with QA team to ensure our product meets the required standards.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to ensure the companies margin targets are achieved.
  • Liaising with design team, providing artwork briefs to ensure our packaging is always first-rate
  • Working closely with sales team to take on board customer feedback and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for set up and merchandising the key brands/new lines at UK trade fairs.
  • Ensure brands are merchandised to the highest level in our showroom.
  • Responsible for implementing marketing strategies for category including trade press, etc.

Profile

  • Proven track record of successful new product development is essential
  • Far East buying/sourcing experience
  • Wholesale experience advantageous
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office packages and strong excel skills

  • Role fully remote/home based, but travel is required. Travel to Glasgow office approximately 8 times per year. Travel to trade fairs including Far East approximately 1-2 times a year.
