Senior Buyer - Fixed Term to Permanent

• This role is to cover a maternity contract, but the ideal candidate can look into a permanent role long term

Description

• Support the process of regional structured tenders in order to ensure are paying the correct cost for its packaging and ingredient requirements
• Support negotiations and contracts to reduce risk and create value
• Manage own allocated categories and associated suppliers, including tracking of their performance
• Rationalise the supply base
• Work Heads of and suppliers to deliver cost out initiatives and projects across the sites
• Identify, manage and deliver a pipeline of cost reduction and sustainability initiatives with site Procurement and Operational teams
• Translate supplier and commodity insight into cost models which enable value creation
• Support in the management of R&D / Innovation Projects with site NDP and Commercial teams

Profile

To be successful in this Senior Buyer - FMCG - Derbyshire role you must:

• Have FMCG Food Manufacturing experience and be used to fast paced environments
• Have full right to work here in the UK
• Graduate calibre with a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate subject
• The ability to regularly travel across UK and internationally in order to spread best practice and visit suppliers and sites
• Excellent team working abilities
• Good people skills
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferable
