Location: Home-based so any UK mainland location considered.

This Senior Bid / Development Manager role is to join a leading PFI Infrastructure Investor, Developer and Operator that is looking to growing their business development team. They have a healthy pipe-line of work relating to large long-term projects and partnerships. This integral bid development role will manage bid transactions from inception to financial close. This role has been created due to significant and sustained growth of the sector and business and the future outlook is extremely buyonant providing longer term career opportunities within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support in the management of the development programme to achieve the required project milestones and overall timetable
  • Ensure that all risk mitigation measures, and project management controls are effectively implemented
  • Manage the technical input for the production of high-quality competitive bids
  • Preparation of regular reports including project dashboards, risk registers, programmes, etc
  • Appoint Development team including procurement of a building contractor and professional consultants
  • Negotiate the appointments of third-party advisors, professional teams, and design team members, including the warranties, PI cover and risk sharing
  • Produce of a handover paper and ensure insurance documentation is in place for financial close
  • Organise and attend client and supply chain meetings.
  • Provide a weekly progress report against the development programme and responsibility for the first draft of the progress reports issued to the leadership team
  • Chair the weekly bid team meeting and be responsible for updating the associated Issues List
  • Coordinate the production of the project risk matrix, ensuring all risk mitigation measures and project management controls are implemented, and risks regularly reviewed
  • Point of contact between the submissions manager and bid team to ensure the timely submission of highly-quality bid response material
  • Support the Director in implementing the bid strategy and win themes as agreed with the Board

You will ideally already have proven project management skills and experience of one or more of the following:

  • Development and delivery of successful PFI, DBFO or similar transactions
  • Bidding of PFI / PPP projects through the competitive dialogue process
  • Negotiation and delivery of project finance and/or property development contract documents
  • Worked within the built environment or real estate sectors

Along with the ability to:

  • Influence team members and ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage complex projects under time challenging conditions
  • Produce and review technical documents, as well as documents that are looking to deliver a clear narrative to multiple stakeholders
  • Actively listen and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, from multiple disciplines
  • You will have also be a motivated and ambitious team player who communicates openly with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
