Location: Burnley (Northwest Based Work)

Our client, located in Burnley, is a dedicated Education IT supplier offering a comprehensive range of ICT services to educational institutions. Specializing in interactive touch LED screens, video distribution wall displays, network infrastructure, wireless solutions, servers, PCs, laptops, AV solutions, online backup services, managed support contracts, and cost-effective refurbished hardware, we work collaboratively with schools to optimize their IT budgets. Due to our continued success, we are seeking a skilled Senior AV Installation Engineer to join our expanding team.

Role Overview:

As a Senior AV Installation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our organization, utilizing your skills and expertise to make a direct impact. This field-based position involves providing installation and support services to the education and business sectors. As the senior engineering lead in a two-person team, you will oversee the safe and correct installation of audio-visual display and presentation technologies, ensuring the development and safety of your subordinate.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, set up, and test audio and video equipment, including interactive screens, projectors, projection screens, video walls, digital signage, video conferencing solutions, AV control systems, and audio equipment.
  • Implement tidy and safe cabling systems and safely mount heavy equipment onto walls and ceilings, selecting appropriate fixing and bracketry.
  • Demonstrate structured network cabling competency (an advantage).
  • Lead on-site, managing teams of in-house and subcontracted engineers.
  • Liaise with clients at a senior level, follow detailed instructions, and make autonomous decisions.
  • Conduct site surveys, produce survey reports, and collaborate with 3rd party trades/subcontractors for project integration.
  • Uphold excellent knowledge of bracketry and fixings for various requirements.
  • Exhibit competence in using power tools, access equipment, hand and laser levels, and measuring equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Broad experience in installing a range of AV solutions in diverse environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT and AV signaling.
  • Proficient in safely installing first and second fix audio-visual systems.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physically fit for heavy lifting.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Full clean driving license and experience driving LGV.
  • CITB Health and Safety Certified.
  • PASMA and IPAF Certified.
  • Enhanced DBS check (arranged by the company).

Job Expectations:

Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.

Safely drive to and from installation sites.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
