Our client

Nigel Wright's Engineering and Manufacturing Division is delighted to be working with a global manufacturing business to recruit a Senior Automation Engineer. You will join a dynamic engineering team at their complex high volume manufacturing site in the North East. 

The opportunity

Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, responsibilities include:
  • Management & introduction of new programmes and Customer changes to current products.
  • Research, development and installation new processes & technologies.
  • Plan and Lead regular status review meetings with Departmental Teams & Individual Staff.
  • Produce, Issue and Present regular updates of status to all areas of the business on Projects and Improvement activities.
  • Lead/ Support Improvement Projects on existing and new Facilities & Equipment.
  • Replace/ Install existing equipment with modern Automated Systems.
  • Liaise with Plant teams to identify and implement improvements and cost reductions.

About you

The successful candidate will have:
  • Significant experience in a similar role within an industrial setting. 
  • To possess interpersonal skills to build rapport with others, displaying trust, integrity, diversity awareness and good networking skills.
  • Adopt a consistent steady analytical approach when faced with adverse situations.
  • Educated to a minimum of HNC level in a related discipline.
