Reporting into one of the senior members of the Global Product team, your main responsibilities will be to work across the full product lifecycle of the Investment business product range (multi manager and fund of funds) across all asset classes globally outside the US, and to support the other members of the Global Product team. As part of the Global Product team, you will work with all other functional areas of the Investment business including investment, distribution, operations, legal and compliance teams. 

The Role

Development of the product range
  • Assist in the strategic development of the business through recommending and contributing to the design of new funds and enhancements to existing funds with a view to improving the profitability and competitiveness of the business, working closely with a range of stakeholders across the investment business and client teams. 
  • Assist with the development of business cases to support change, for consideration by the appropriate governance committees including preparation of financial analysis to assist with the assessment of new product initiatives and changes to the existing funds.
  • Responsibility for taking product management and development initiatives through the product development process, ensuring the appropriate governance procedures are followed and approvals obtained. All product proposals must fairly represent the client’s interest to ensure that all prospective and ongoing clients are treated fairly.
  • Take the lead or work with other team members on implementing product initiatives within budget and to agreed timescales.


Management of the product range
  • Assist with the management of the existing fund range to ensure that funds are kept up to date meeting the needs of our key strategic markets, adhere to all regulatory requirements and continue to deliver the intended solution to clients. This would include:
    • Ensure funds continue to operate effectively.
    • Monitor fund costs to ensure that costs and charges applied are appropriate.
    • Ensure distributors are kept up to date with any changes to the existing funds to allow them to distribute the funds to the intended market in line with MIFID II and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the oversight of regulatory and tax developments in the market, assessing impact on the fund ranges and the funds business and making any recommendations for change to meet those requirements.
  • Act as the product manager for the existing funds, being the first point of contact for knowledge and expertise on the funds.
  • Assist with the annual reviews on funds and solutions to ensure the funds/solutions continue to meet the needs of clients and the business, making recommendations for change to senior management as appropriate.
  • Assist with enabling distribution of the existing fund range in agreed markets, ensuring licenses and registrations are in place in key markets.
  • Ensure all product documentation is maintained appropriately.
  • Support in the preparation of Board, Executive Committee, Risk and any other reports required within the Global Product Team.
  • Ensure that the I&D ethos is always embedded within the team and any projects.


Regulatory developments
  • Assist with the oversight of regulatory and tax developments in the market, assessing impact on the fund ranges and the funds business and making any recommendations for change to meet those requirements. Any recommendations for change to be effected through the product process.


Process
  • Enhance the firm’s product development & management processes.
  • Support the objectives of the firm’s Global Product Committee.
  • Influence and play a role in maintaining and enhancing the governance mechanism used to prioritise change.


The Requirements:
  • Related asset management experience; proven asset management financial product experience is preferred. 
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of pooled funds required.
  • Detail orientated with an ability to understand and help implement the strategic vision.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with the confidence to work with multiple stakeholders across a range of functions, regions and develop a network of internal relationships
  • To be proactive and demonstrate tenacity in effectively supporting the team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • An understanding of the current regulatory issues in EMEA is a plus.
  • Alternatives and wealth experience will be a differentiator, but is not required.
