RSR Justice are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Huddersfield for a Senior Advocacy Worker.

This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a salary of £26,460.

Main Duties:

  • Act as advocates for clients who are survivors of modern slavery; supporting them to address and overcome any social, personal, physical or mental health issues they may experience and empowering them with daily routines and activities.
  • Assisting clients with gaining access to benefit entitlements, health care provision, move on accommodation, educational services and any other identified areas of need or personal goals for the client.
  • Support and encourage staff, holding monthly client clinics with staff. SRAWs deputise for managers in their absence and understand and promote client quality agenda within the organisation.
  • All SRAWs provide on out of hours on call support for a week at a time. As part of this role you must be happy to be on call once every 4 months (no call outs).

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable and / or complex need client groups.
  • Experience of prioritising own workload.
  • Understanding of difficulties experienced by asylum, refugees and migrants, people fleeing domestic abuse, victims of slavery and human trafficking, individuals fleeing forced marriage or honour-based violence.
  • Substantial experience of risk/needs assessment and support planning.
  • Ability to empathise and seek solutions to problems faced by vulnerable victims.
  • GCSE’s A* to C in Maths and English or equivalent.

Role is subject to DBS check at the relevant level.
