Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Hays are recruiting for a dynamic and ambitious retail company based in Manchester city centre. They are currently seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist reporting to the Finance Manager.

Your new role

You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's purchasing and payment processes.On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring invoices and documentation provided by suppliers are processed.
• Managing invoices and matching with purchase orders.
• Liaising with internal teams to deal with supplier orders and stock delivery dates.
• Assisting with the year-end audit process.
• Recording and updating information regarding the order and shipment schedules.
• Overseeing VAT account transactions.
• Generating stock receipts and recording payment journals on the system.
• Other adhoc project work when required.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have a 'can do' attitude and be able to hit the ground running. You will have a confident and efficient communication style in order to communicate effectively with various departments across the company. Prior experience in accounts payable is essential, ideally within import and exports would be an advantage.
