This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manager to join the busy Accounts team. The ideal candidate will be ICAEW qualified, with 10+ years PQE and 12 months experience at operating at a similar senior manager level and with a broad client portfolio background.

The purpose of this role is to manage and provide complex accounting advice and compliance services to the firms clients in order to achieve budget and maintain a high level of client satisfaction. To provide support to other team members and to partners, in addition to the line management and career development of team members.

Thay are looking for an excellent communicator to deal with both internal and external clients. You will be approachable and enjoy working collaboratively – part of this role is to develop good working relationships with other departments (such as tax and audit) and to help enhance the profile of the accounts team within the firm and outside.

KEY SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delegates suitably ensuring clear instructions are given and objectives and deadlines set for the accounts team
  • Ensure good relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Correspond with clients, both on-site where applicable and via telephone / email to resolve any queries or issues
  • Highlight any work or project delivery issues to partners and key staff
  • Liaises with managers, partners and key staff on client problems and supports team members with simple client issues
  • Interact with other departments to assist in ensuring seamless delivery of work
  • Ensure own compliance with all practice management activities
  • Assist with managing the expectations of partners and other key staff across the practice to ensure work and projects are completed within reasonable and realistic timeframes
  • Develop and maintain a good level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfil the professional bodies’ CPD requirements where appropriate
  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job

SPECIFIC ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with the review and finalisation of yearend accounts for both complex and high profile clients
  • Providing guidance to senior members of the team and be available to answer queries
  • Review the work of both senior and junior members of the team to aid their progression
  • General administration as per the requirements of the portfolio
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required

KEY SENIOR COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

  • Exceptional, effective and appropriate communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and remain mindful of sensitive issues
  • Excellent IT skills along with the ability to use software effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
