Senior Accountant Job Vacancy

This outstanding firm of accountants in Sheffield is searching for an ambitious and confident Senior Accountant who can oversee the provision of accounts and enhanced service levels for a loyal client portfolio.

You’ll oversee bookkeeping and the preparation of statutory and management accounts as well as financial statements, VAT returns and tax computations.

This employer is seeking a talented all rounder who is likely ACCA/ACA qualified or a finalist and is ready to progress onwards in their already progressive career as an accountant.

You’ll be an able mentor and leader and you’ll be flexible in your approach and able to support the senior team on an ad hoc basis. You’ll be organised and have great time management and communication skills.

JobPurpose

  • Plan, prepare, and review accounts for a range of clients in varying sectors
  • VAT returns, oversight of bookkeeping, management accounts and financial statements.
  • Liaise directly with clients, sending final accounts, proactively handing queries, and building trusted relationships.
  • Forecast and manage budgets, oversee workflow, and mentor junior staff with training and knowledge sharing.
  • Prepare personal and corporation tax computations, including tax returns, tax liabilities, and providing trusted advisory.
  • Work closely with senior team members, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are being met.
  • Promote and strive for customer service excellence and set an example to junior staff as a hands-on and proactive Senior Accountant.

Job Requirements

  • ACCA or ACA qualified or part qualified with a minimum of four years UK practice experience.
  • A proven track record of working with clients within practice.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software.
  • Adept at using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication and advisory skills.
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a team’s workflow.
  • A team player able to bring out the best in others.
  • Able to confidently mentor junior team members, in a positive and constructive manner
