Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Manchester is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to work in a delightful Primary School nestled in the charming Bramhall area of Stockport.

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a wonderful child who requires significant assistance. This role involves working closely on a 2:1 basis, ensuring the child receives the personalised attention and encouragement they need to thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the SEND child, assisting with their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where the child feels valued and supported.
  • Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote the child's self-esteem and confidence.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly working with SEND and SEMH students.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with both students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in supporting students with SEND (desirable but not essential).
