Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a experienced Teacher to join this popular secondary school where you will be working with the speech and language team in their resource base. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September

The School:

A highly respected, oversubscribed community school with a rich history, committed to the academic, spiritual, and personal development of each individual. The school has a Speech and Language Resource Base (SLRB) which opened in September 2022. This is a resource base for students with an EHCP and a diagnosis of developmental language. The students in the resource base have the majority of their lessons in mainstream classes, and their teachers are closely supported by the SLRB teacher, Speech and Language Therapists and Learning Support Assistants to support them. In addition, the students in the SLRB have small group lessons with the SLRB teacher to develop their expressive and receptive language skills, numeracy skills and life skills.

As a SEN teacher you will be responsible for the below:

  • To plan, prepare, and teach sequences of numeracy, literacy and life skills lessons appropriate to the needs of the pupils
  • To create appropriate teaching materials that meet the needs of students in the speech and language resource base (SLRB)
  • To support and advise mainstream teachers and occasionally teach in mainstream
  • To have a good understanding of each pupil's profile and work with the SLRB team to set and review termly IEP targets
  • To monitor and track students' progress through online platforms such as Verbo, Provision Mapping, spreadsheets, IEPs and annual reviews
  • To prepare paperwork for students' annual reviews and attend students' annual reviews

To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

  • Full QTS
  • Previous experience working within SEN and SpLD
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
