SEND Learning Support Assistant - Camden, North London

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for SEND Learning Support Assistants who can commit to a full-time role on a long-term basis starting ASAP located across SEND Schools in Camden, North London.

Role Overview:

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with an individual pupils who has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) operating at lower levels, SEMH, ODD and PDA. Experience dealing with students with any of the move is must. The role requires a compassionate and nurturing individual who is passionate about supporting and encouraging young people with SEND to achieve their maximum potential.

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:45pm
  • Salary - Competitive, Dependent on Experience
  • Camden, North London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the identified pupils in various learning environments.
  • Implement strategies outlined in the EHCP to support the pupil's educational and developmental needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to the pupil's education.
  • Record and report on the pupil's progress, challenges, and achievements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with ASD, SEMH, ODD or PDA.
  • Strong understanding of SEND and the ability to implement effective strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or support work.
