• Position: SEND Deputy Head of Year Teacher

• Pay: M1 - U3
• Contract: Full time, Permanent from September 2024

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Year in overseeing the academic progress, welfare, and behavior of students with SEND within the year group.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with SEND, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to supporting students with SEND.
• Lead and participate in meetings, reviews, and training sessions related to SEND provision and inclusion.
• Foster a positive and inclusive school culture where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in achieving their full potential.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification with experience working with students with SEND.
• Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a SEND or inclusion setting.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation, best practices, and interventions to support students with a range of needs.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality within the school community.
