We are in partnership with a reputable secondary school in the Wellingborough area, seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join their team on a permanent basis starting in September. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a passion for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to make a significant impact on students’ lives.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Ensure high aspirations and expectations for all learners.
  • Serve as an exemplary role model, demonstrating best practice for all pupils.
  • Utilise strong organisational skills to prioritise and multitask effectively.
  • Deliver a high-quality, inclusive education for all children.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated attitude.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Inspire a love of learning in all students.
  • Apply a good working knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • Understand and implement the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
  • Manage referral processes and work with EHCPs.
  • Lead staff training to develop expertise in supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Analyse SEND data to ensure progress and targeted interventions are effective.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a SENCO or in a role leading to this position.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Passion for providing high-quality, inclusive education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Good working knowledge of the national curriculum and SEN Code of Practice.
  • Experience working with and applying for EHCPs.
  • Confidence in leading staff training and analysing SEND data.
