ASEND tuition supports SEND pupils and helps them continue their learning while they cannot access school or don’t have a school place. We are looking for an SEN Tutor with Key Stage 2 experience to support an autistic pupil near High Wycombe to build her self-esteem and understanding how she feels.

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in south Buckinghamshire. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school.

We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About The Pupil

ASEND is looking for a creative and charismatic tutor for an 8-year-old Autistic girl living in High Wycombe. She is a little behind in her academic levels and to engage her effectively, we understand the importance of incorporating her interests into her learning journey and following her lead. She has a keen fascination with kittens, puppies, hamsters, fish, Easter, Bluey, skateboarding, and the Elf on the Shelf. Additionally, she dreams of becoming a YouTuber, which we can integrate into our tutoring sessions to foster her creativity.

Our young pupil is very creative and curious about the world. She needs a highly agile tutor who will be able to engage with her through play, pretend play, outdoor activities and around her changing interests rather than a classical teaching approach. Physical activity has been a focus recently and she has chosen to take the stairs or walk instead of using a lift or public transport (for short distances).

It’s a highly rewarding position where you will be able to incorporate your boundless creativity and see this child grow stronger and more confident. If you are a tutor who can calmly think outside the box to help her to overcome challenges and continue her academic learning, we encourage you to apply today. You will build her confidence, embrace her strengths and engage her in learning using creative multi-sensory strategies.
