SEN Tutor/Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor/Teacher to work on a full-time basis with a primary level learner who has complex needs. This role requires a compassionate individual with a proven track record of working with SEN pupils. The tuition will take place in a unique setting at Meanwood Urban Valley Farm, incorporating a lot of practical-based learning to engage the pupil effectively.

• Deliver tailored educational activities and lessons to meet the individual needs of the SEN pupil.
• Engage the pupil in practical-based learning experiences at Meanwood Urban Valley Farm.
• Develop and adapt teaching materials to suit the pupil’s learning style and needs.
• Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, adapting strategies as necessary.
• Work closely with other professionals involved in the pupil’s care to ensure a cohesive approach to their education.
• Create a supportive and understanding environment to help the pupil thrive.

• Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in teaching or tutoring SEN pupils with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to adapt it to an SEN context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with pupils, parents, and professionals.
• Creative and flexible approach to teaching that incorporates practical activities.
• Must be available to start as soon as possible and commit to a full-time schedule.
