About the Role: Join our dedicated team at an SEMH school in Ellesmere Port, where every day is an opportunity to inspire and empower students with diverse needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of children facing SEMH challenges. From one-on-one support to classroom assistance, your role will be dynamic, rewarding, and essential to creating a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, fostering their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Promote positive behaviour management techniques, helping students develop crucial social and emotional skills.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for every student.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all children feel valued and respected.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an SEMH setting.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to supporting students' diverse needs.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging situations with resilience and creativity, maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education or related fields (desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
