We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with diverse learning requirements. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment where every day presents new challenges and rewards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with ASC, SEMH, and other complex needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

  2. Behavioural Support: Utilize effective strategies to manage challenging behaviors, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  3. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive.

  4. Empowerment: Empower students to develop their social, emotional, and cognitive skills, promoting independence and confidence in their abilities.

  5. Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of student progress and behavior, communicating regularly with the wider team to track development and adjust support strategies as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with students with ASC, SEMH, or other complex needs is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of effective behavior management techniques and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
