Are you an enthusiastic, experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with a variety of needs?

Milk Education are seeking a vibrant and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 team for an inclusive school in Islington. School hours include 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. This school strives to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes in pupils to enable them to become informed, articulate and empowered citizens.

This school has developed an outstanding curriculum that helps all children to succeed in their academic and personal development. The successful candidate will work closely with staff and pupils to provide enriching arts and cultural experiences as part of their entitlement pledge that are fundamental to their cultural and holistic development.

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has initiative, is practical, positive and compassionate and able to support children academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Has experience of working with a range of special educational needs including children who are non-verbal.
  • Has experience of carrying out targeted interventions, working from EHCPs and with external professionals.
  • Is able to develop positive relationships with pupils, having an understanding of their social and emotional needs.

Responsibilities:

  • To assist teaching staff to plan and prepare lessons and resources within the school curriculum.
  • To reinforce targets throughout the school day
  • To support students both within the class and during unstructured situations.
  • To follow school procedures in reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns .
  • To maintain continuous professional development.
