Milk Education are working in partnership with a Special Educational Needs school in Tower Hamlets, who are currently looking for a motivated and proactive Teaching Assistant particularly with a strong background in SEN. This school has strong beliefs in their values of a positive and happy school with an exceptionally committed staff who provide a purposeful atmosphere for every student.

The role will include assisting both staff and pupils, individually and small groups to support them access the curriculum as well as willing to assist pupils with their day-to-day personal care needs. The successful candidate will join a creative and enthusiastic multi-cultural school community to assist in providing a high standard of innovative education.

About the role:

•             Work under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO to carry out work and tasks set by the teacher

•             Work with individual pupils or small groups as directed by the teacher and under the teachers guidance.

•             Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children.

•             Build a positive relationship with pupils, promoting high self-esteem, independence and social inclusion.

The ideal candidate will have:

•             Excellent communication skills: the ability to make written and oral points clearly to students, staff and parents.

•             A flexible and proactive approach to ensuring the needs of the children are being met, with the support of the team.

•             Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for learning

•             Experience of working with pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children on the Autism Spectrum.
