Job Description:

Urgently required 1.1 Teaching Assistant.

Smart Education are currently seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to support registered disabled year 1 pupil who has a full body tremor and hypermobility. The young person requires support throughout the school day, to access the curriculum and participate with their peers. The Young person loves school and has a passion for learning. Our Client is looking for an ambitious, hardworking and committed teaching assistant to cover a vacant post for the current academic year.

The school is based in Kidderminster and has an Ofsted rating of Good. The school have a great support system in place and have a really passion for making a difference to students education.

You must have experience supporting pupils with physical needs.

JOB ROLE:

The Teaching Assistant will:

  • Follow planning provided by the class teacher
  • Support pupils within the classroom
  • Follow PEP and EHCP targets during intervention sessions to support further learning
  • Use a variety of resources to make learning opportunities fun and interesting
  • Keeping pupils focused during learning time
  • Support pupils in small groups for intervention work
  • Teach Phonics to a small group based on teachers planning
  • Support the pupils reading, writing, phonics and basic maths skills
  • Communicate with teacher throughout the day

DUTIES:

The Teaching Assistant will:

  • Ability to apply and teach various english and maths disciplines
  • Have experience within primary / primary education / teaching
  • Have a knowledge of the curriculum
  • Be able to motivate the pupils
  • Have a positive attitude and an enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to possibly work with parents in order for them to participate within their childrens’ learning and achievement within this particular area of the curriculum
  • Have a up to date DBS (we can process one for you)

Qualifications Required:

  • Level 3 Early Years / Childcare 
  • DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
  • Safeguarding and Prevent training
  • Classroom TA / LSA / 1:1 experience
  • SEN experience/ knowledge/ additional CPD
  • Safeguarding trained (we offer free CPD)
  • Prevent trained (we offer free CPD)

Job Title: 1.1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Kidderminster, West Midlands, United Kingdom

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:20 – 3:30

Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications Required: Level 3

Salary:  £83.21+ per day
