Role: Teaching Assistant

Salary: £12.82 per hour

Location: Ebbw Vale

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time, Temporary

An inclusive and supportive Special School in Ebbw Vale is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Special Educational Needs Support Staff. This role is crucial in providing individualised support to pupils with a range of learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments, and autistic spectrum disorders. The position is available on a full or part-time basis, commencing after half term until the end of the academic year.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils, aiding their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to cater to the unique needs of each pupil.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of pupils at all times.
  • Engage in the school’s activities and events, contributing to a vibrant learning environment.
  • Utilise the school’s facilities and resources, including the hydro pool, sensory rooms, and ICT equipment, to enhance pupils’ educational experiences.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience or relevant qualifications in working with children or vulnerable adults.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.
  • Possession of a valid DBS certificate and registration with the EWC.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting children with special educational needs.
