Pay rate: £85.00 - £90.00 per day depending on experience

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

Start date: Monday 15th April 2024

Duration: Long term with view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are currently working with an Outstanding mainstream Primary School in Harlow who are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join them after the Easter break on a long-term basis until July 2024. As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in the educational development and well-being of individuals with special educational needs who would benefit from targeted 1:1 support.

Roles and responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting high self-esteem and independence
  • Promote high standards of behavior, responding to incidents in line with the school’s behavior policy and guidelines on physical intervention
  • Adapt communication style to respond to pupils according to their individual needs
  • Assist with the development and delivery of individual education and support plans
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and mental health needs, escalating concerns where appropriate
