Role: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bolton
Hours:
8.30am - 3.15pm, Monday, Thursday.
8.30am - 3.35pm Tuesday
8.30am - 3.30pm Wednesday
8.30am - 3pm Friday.
With a 30 minute break for lunch.

Are you interested in supporting SEN children , mainly those with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Additional Learning Needs?

If so, then look no further than our Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant position! Your role will be providing support to a variety of children in KS3/KS4 on a 1:1 and 1:2 basis who have an educational healthcare plan.
To thrive as a SEN Teaching Assistant, it's desirable for you to have:
- A genuine passion for supporting secondary aged students.
- Experience working with children with Autism and/or SEMH needs.
- Experience with children who have behavioural needs.
- Experience working with children with additional learning needs.
- Have a natural enthusiasm for working with children.
- The ability to monitor and record a young persons progress.
- An understanding of safeguarding children.
- A positive, caring, energetic, can-do attitude.
- Team Teach training is preferable.
- ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) is preferable.
Duties include (but aren't limited to):
- 1:1 support with a child or small groups
- Supporting the class as a whole
- Assisting the class teacher
- Fostering relationships with parents
- Caring and looking after children during break times and lunch times
- Supervising children during activities
- Managing challenging behaviour
- Motivating children and being an excellent role model
Degree holders or applicants holding an NVQ/Level 3 qualification in Childcare are welcome as are Teaching Assistants with experience in school settings.
