ASEND supports SEND pupils in the classroom or as part of a team if they cannot access school. We are looking for a SEN TA with experience working with pupils with non-verbal Autism to support a pupil in Newham. You will join an experienced and dedicated team to continue his learning.

About ASEND Teaching Assistants

We are looking for confident SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with SEND in Newham. We support pupils with SEND who are struggling to engage in the classroom or who are not attending school for a number of reasons including a lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school. Our Teaching Assistants get a wide experience with pupils either in schools or as part of a small team outside of school assisting a tutor.

We work with pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times and in a range of settings including schools, community centres, homes and out in the community. We need a wide range of SEND Teaching Assistants to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About The Pupil

We are looking for a TA to support an 11-year-old boy, who will work alongside a tutor to support his learning and development. He has a diagnosis of Autism and experiences communication difficulties, along with learning difficulties. He is a cheerful boy, with a wide range of interests, including music, swimming and maths. We would love to find someone who can incorporate his interests into his learning to make it more engaging.

An ideal Teaching Assistant would possess prior experience in assisting children with regulating their emotions and managing their feelings. The TA working with this pupil should be able to assist with his learning and help him become more aware of his safety.
