SEN Teaching Assistant

We are thrilled to represent an SEN School in the City of Westminster actively seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, commencing in April. This temporary position offers full-time hours, with the potential to transition to a permanent contract following an initial period working through Classroom Support.

Role and Responsibilities: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in educating and supporting children with challenging behaviours within the school provision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these students.

Key Information:

  • Start Date: February
  • Contract Type: Temporary (with the possibility of transitioning to permanent)
  • Working Hours: Full-time (8:30am-3:30pm)

Remuneration: The remuneration for this position ranges between £85 and £95 per day, providing competitive compensation for the right candidate.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or autism.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in challenging behaviour management.
  • Experience in tutoring small classes of students with ASD or ADHD.
  • Advantageous: Positive behaviour management, restraint training, or a background in support roles.
  • Advantageous: Experience tutoring within SEN schools or provisions.
  • Ability to connect with students on a personal level, demonstrating a firm yet caring nature.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and strategies.
