Timeplan are currently recruiting for Behaviour focused Teaching Assistants to deliver high quality alternative teaching and learning on mainly a one to one basis working with pupils that have either Special Educational Needs, Social, Mental and Emotional Health in a wonderful SEN school in Barnet. You will be using creative and varied teaching and suppoortive methods to engage pupils who are out of mainstream education. The role is to help and support with the development and progression of learning and to integrate them into the community. Your role will be to work to develop identified areas of weakness.


Reports To: Alternative Provision Lead

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Teach
  • Plan, prepare and deliver teaching and learning for individual pupils with different needs
  • Work from identified teaching areas including SEN
  • Teach following the national curriculum as appropriate for the need of the individual
  • Use relevant resources and equipment
  • Provide feedback to pupils
  • Working in a range environments
  • Adapting materials and delivery to meet the needs of the learners
  • Track and monitor progress
  • Assess learning and development for each pupil
  • Manage behaviour and dynamics
  • Communicate with parents, schools and Local authority
  • Understand EHCP

Administrative/Other

  • Keep an up to date register
  • Complete weekly reports
  • Create session plans for the duration of the training programme
  • Complete evaluation reports
  • Attend training and meetings as required
  • Keeping up to date with own CPD and the recording of this CPD
  • Liaising with the Lead and other relevant parties
  • Attend and participate in meetings including Tribunals.
  • Working with organizational systems
  • Any other key duties that may be asked
  • Liaise with class teacher if school based
